Skai Jackson has filed for a restraining order against her baby’s father, Deondre Burgin, after an alleged assault took place on Mother’s Day.
Skai Jackson Files for Restraining Order Against Baby’s Father Deondre Burgin
A source close to Jackson tells PEOPLE that the decision to file a restraining order was made to ensure her family’s safety. “The safety and well-being of her family is the top priority,” the insider says.
“This restraining order was filed as a necessary measure to protect her and her child from continued harassment and threats.”
Former Disney star filed a restraining order in LA County Superior Court and a document, claiming Burgin attacked her on Mother’s Day as she was holding their 3 month old, Kasai.
According to TMZ, Deondre Burgin grabbed Jackson by the hair, slammed her head against a car window, and punched her in the face. In the document, she explains that during six months, Burgin would abuse her weekly. Jackson alleges that he would choke, scratch, and slam her head against a wall. She also asserts that Burgin would damage personal property like an iPhone and a television. While she was pregnant, Skai claims Burgin demanded that she drink bleach to kill their unborn child and held her at knifepoint as he walked her to her car and threatened to stab her in the stomach if she yelled for help.
But that’s not it. Jackson says she has a video from last summer, alleging that Burgin punched through a bathroom door, one that she locked herself inside. She claims he slammed her against the wall and “choked me until I could no longer breathe.”
Skai Jackson & Deondre Burgin Patterns Of Alleged Abuse
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Skai Jackson has made headlines involving allegations of domestic violence–but the roles were reversed.
If you remember in August 2024, Skai Jackson was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly pushing Deondre Burgin. Law enforcement was called while the two were at ‘Universal CityWalk’ after security spotted Jaskson and her boyfriend getting into it as she allegedly pushed him, even though both denied it. The charges were eventually dropped. You can read more about it HERE.
Skai Jackson has asked a judge to keep Burgin 100 yards away from her, their baby, and her terrier-pug mix … and order him to take a domestic violence treatment program. She also says the two have no legal child support agreement in place and that she wants that in addition to Burgin to cover all her legal fees.
